Best Fall Photos at Applehill CA
It’s that time of year where hundreds gather to Applehill, CA to roam the gorgeous farms to pick their harvest and enjoy good company.
You know it’s the best time of year when the fall crisp air hits your cheek, and the fuzzy boots come out from their hibernation in the closet! Whether it’s your annual trip to go drink apple wine, or it’s your first time experiencing it all, these locations make for obviously stunning photos that you can reminisce on during those hot months. With that being said, the crowds can be overwhelming, especially during end of October through December. If your social anxiety spiked reading that, (I see you) no worries, we will navigate the farms with ease!
Here are my absolute favorite Applehill Farms to visit for a session with you:
Smokey Ridge Ranch
This location is PRIME during the morning hours of 9:30 am - 11ish! The free parking situation is not bad in the mornings, but it is a smaller farm so it can fill up quickly. However, if you get there early to mid morning, you can wander through the chestnut orchards and take in the landscapes of beautiful vineyards. Plenty of space of active kiddos to run around, shade in between the rows of trees, and bails of hay for photos ops. Perfect for smaller families and engaged couples!
High Hill Ranch
h Hill RanchIf you’ve heard anything about Apple Hill, this is THE most popular farm with lots of fun vendors, apple donuts filling the air, and spacious picnic areas. This one is simple: Earlier you get here the better all around. There is free parking through the orchard trees, and will be a WALK to the actual main path where it’s the busiest foot traffic. However, around the back right side of the vendors, there is a nice secluded spot that is lined with shady trees towards the bottom of the pond. Such a cute spot
Hidden Star Camino
Location number 23 on the Apple Hill map! Now this is THE spot for the kiddos. There is a jungle gym of a play town that kids will love, and fantastic cider flights for the adults. Usually there is a $10-$13 ‘donation’ based parking that is on red dirt, so come prepared to change shoes or a towel to clean up. Off to the sides there are pretty scenes of the vineyards but also a small ‘foresty’ feel spot that has gorgeous lighting in the late morning!
Basically… ARRIVE EARLY!
The key to beating the crowds to get that spot on the hill is to be the early bird! That worm is yours!
